How can I get to Ithaca?
By car: from Interstate 81, 90 or 76, you’ll get to spend at least 30 minutes enjoying the scenic two lane roads leading to our “centrally isolated” town.
By air:
- Ithaca airport is definitely the closest, but has limited options for flights.
- Binghamton and Elmira airports are about an hour away, and also have fairly limited options for flight.
- Syracuse is an hour away and has a lot more choices for flights than Ithaca.
- Rochester airport is closer to 2 hours away, but has even more choices, and a lot more direct flights.
By bus: There’s a Greyhound bus station in downtown Ithaca, but I wouldn’t recommend it for long distance travel. From NYC, Cornell runs a nice but expensive campus-to-campus bus service.
By train: The closest train stop is an hour away in Syracuse. It’s not going to get you all the way to Ithaca.
When is this happening?
The wedding ceremony will start at 4pm. It will be followed by a cocktail hour, buffet dinner, and dancing! Unfortunately, the music has to stop at 11 pm.
What should I wear?
Looking at this wedding attire guide, we’re planning a semi-formal event. Please make sure you’ll be comfortable for at least 30-45 minutes outdoors in August in Ithaca (it will probably be between 65 and 95 degrees, with a chance of rain or thunderstorms).
We do have a backup option under cover in case of rain, but you may want to pack an umbrella or rain jacket to get to / from your car just in case; we frequently get sudden showers or thunderstorms through in the summer.
Even if it’s warm during the day, you may want to bring a sweater or jacket, since it can get colder at night after the sun goes down.
